Exciting Experiences at Norwich Primary Academy
BackThis term our pupils at Norwich Primary Academy have been taking part in lots of exciting experiences, broadening horizons and trying new things! See below some of the highlights of this term!
Our reception family cafes are continuing to be really positive and supportive sessions for our reception pupils, helping them to learn with family members by their side and giving them space to show off their new skills. Especially in our session where we enjoyed reading about the Colour Monster!
Year 6 pupils were recognised for their excellent efforts this term and were able to visit Bookbugs and Dragontales bookshop in the heart of Norwich. This fantastic bookshop is so welcoming and inspired our children to pick up new books, they were all able to choose a book to take home with them!
Year 5 pupils had a really informative visit to the Mosque this term, following their trip to the church just before Christmas. They learnt about the features of Islam and the importance of inclusion – one of our house values. It was really interesting for our pupils and supports our teaching about different religions.
Year 3 pupils have been rehearsing for weeks which paid off fantastically as they performed at the Norfolk County Music Festival. Thank you to Mrs Horne and Mrs Brady, and to all the supportive families that attended to support our children. We are so proud of their performance and they received a “Highly Commended Performance” certificate, which is so well deserved.
We also hopes to introduce more opportunities for pupils to develop their leadership skills and have the pupil voice heard in school, Mrs Blake said:
“We have continued our work on pupil leadership and pupil voice across the school. This has been demonstrated in the successful implementation of our 'Peer Mentors', who are helping other pupils have a safe and enjoyable playtime. Our School Council have fed back on the impact of their work in an assembly to the whole school, which has included new clubs requested by pupils, which are now up and running.”
