Bright ending to first ever Arts Week
BackYoung artists at Norwich Primary Academy celebrated the school’s first ever Arts Week with a colourful exhibition opened by the Lord Mayor of Norwich.
Mayor Vaughan Thomas was welcomed to the display by student ambassadors Lilly Beaman, Denuka Mahenthiran, Zaiden Harlington, and Jacob Farrow on Friday, July 12.
Parents and families joined him to view work by children across the school inspired by artists including Mondrian, Munch, and Kandinsky and styles from Pop Art to impressionism.
The school’s Arts Week saw pupils unlock their creative talents with a series of art lessons and workshops, experimenting with materials and techniques and learning about different artists and genres of art.
Vice principal Heather Denny said: “Our Arts Week was a huge success and we are so proud of the work the children produced.
“They really engaged with the workshops and learned an immense amount about art, which is a vital part of their education and cultural enrichment.”
